Products used: Lundell Thermo Profile
Approximately one hundred tons of thermo profiles manufactured by Aulis Lundell Ltd have been used for the facade frames of Terminal 2, the new part of Helsinki Airport. Terminal 2 has been selected as the Steel Structure of 2021 in Finland.
The thermo profiles are made of an environmentally friendly hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. Each profile of the elements can be removed from the element and reused. As a material steel is 100 % recyclable if no new uses for the profiles can be found as products. Utilizing scrap steel reduces CO2 emissions from new manufactured steel by up to 80 percent. The special perforated structure of Lundell thermal bars achieves the best thermal and strength values.
